God’s Way Is Not Our Way
“I praise you, Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.”
Matthew 11: 25-26
Every aspect of God’s plan goes directly against our own nature. God created us to have fellowship with Him, but we of our own choice turned our backs and walked away. God’s perfect plan now works to restore the fellowship that we have broken. The very method that God has chosen confounds the most brilliant minds. It is in our nature to focus on our own accomplishments, our intelligence and our self-worth. We admire others who achieve greatness, who are powerful, wealthy and famous. That thought has nothing to do with God’s plan. God’s way is not our way. We have created religion in an effort to reach God. In this religion, we get to decide what is best, what is acceptable and we determine the conditions. This is not God’s way. The gospel is the way God has chosen. For it is in the gospel that God has revealed his plan. That plan was to send his Son to do what we could never do on our own. Salvation is completely the work of God and it requires nothing but simple child-like faith. Even God’s method to spread the gospel is not necessarily the way we would have chosen. God chose those who were uneducated, unrefined and yes even despised, to carry the mission of spreading God’s plan to the world.
So today, remember it’s not fancy words, or being somebody important, that matters. The gospel is all about God, and He does the work! This week, as you speak with others, share the good news and let God work in their lives!
