Made for a Purpose

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 10:31 (ESV)

Have you ever wondered what your purpose in life is? What is the meaning of your existence? As Christians, we have realized that God has no need to create us, but instead, He chose to create us for a reason. Something we have learned during our spiritual walk with God is that He is important to us. It may not seem like it, but even though we feel insignificant, God sees us as much more than that.

God created mankind to worship and praise Him. Worship is not just singing songs on Sunday morning. Worship is how we glorify God in our everyday lives. That’s what Paul is telling the church in Corinth. Worshipping is not a once a week kind of deal. Worshipping God takes commitment and dedication every day. Worship is a way of life. It is a lifestyle of praising God.

When we’re at work, at school or hanging out with friends and family, we have to represent Jesus Christ in what we’re doing. That is our purpose. That is why we exist. Our identity is more than what we do for a living or what family we belong to. Our true identity is found in Jesus Christ, who gives us meaning and purpose.

This week, pray about how you can worship and praise God. Find a way to bring Him glory in your normal, everyday routine. Remember that He is your purpose, which should motivate you to worship Him.
