Renewing your strength
Isaiah 40:31
“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
There will be days when we get tired. We’ve been working hard, moving around a bunch, busy coming and going or trying to take on everything at once. We can rest knowing that God gives us strength to take on the day, no matter how exhausted we get from life.
Through His love and grace, God distributes His strength among His people. Those who wait on the Lord and show patience and humility will receive this refreshing renewal. It allows us to see things from God’s perspective and brings positivity into our lives. That’s how we’re able to take on the challenges life throws at us.
As human beings, we are weak on our own. We can’t handle everything perfectly. That’s where God comes in. When we show that attitude of faith, God rewards us by being there for us when we show that we are being there for Him. The life we have in the Lord is based on faith and hope. Without Him, we have no purpose, and therefore, become exhausted more easily. When we are motivated by His loving actions, it spurs us on to keep going and keep moving forward.
In this specific passage of Isaiah, the prophet is giving the Israelites a message of hope after being conquered by the Babylonians. It is a sign of deliverance for those who feel weak and helpless. But those who trust in God will see His blessings come to life. That gives them the strength to carry on and live out their lives for Him.
Those who put their faith in God will become strong when they were once weak. They will gain victory over their sins through the power of Jesus Christ. God gives us that strength. It is not of ourselves as stated in Ephesians 2:8, where it says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.” How wonderful it is to put our trust in a Savior who is there for us and picks us up when we feel tired.
This week, pray about how you can receive the renewing of your strength through Jesus Christ. Let His power flow through you and taste and see that the Lord is good.
