God takes our burdens

Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.

Psalms 68:19 (ESV)

It is easy for us to get caught up in our emotions when things need to be done. Whether it’s work-related, around the house or keeping up with friends we haven’t spoken to in a while. There are positive emotions and negative ones. Have you ever wondered which type of emotions stick with you the longest?

Our number one problem could be how we handle our emotions. They stand out because we are the ones who can control them. If something is out of our control, we tend not to worry about it as much. However, emotions come from within us, which means we have a better understanding of how to control them.

We can always dig down and find the root cause of that emotion. That way, we can bring it under control. Only then might we have a better state of mind. Emotions come like a freight train out of the dark and hits like one, too. Taming them requires the fact that we have to face them.

The Bible encourages us to dig deep to find the underlying source of our issues. Often, that source is a lie told to us by Satan. It can be something that we have become to believe that is holding us hostage. We must not believe the lie. We have to allow Jesus to set us free. He can help us conquer the lie and take one more step to peace and freedom with our Lord and Savior.

God has the power to bear the burdens caused by our overwhelming emotions. We can get flooded by these negative thoughts that creep into our mind. Let us trust in Him who can conquer all things, including the things we cannot control.

This week, think about the love of Christ He has for you. Know that if you put your trust in Him, He will bring you peace and everlasting life.
