Be still

Psalm 46:10 (ESV)

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

It’s hard to be still, especially throughout the hustle and bustle of life. We can be so busy sometimes. It can be difficult to find rest in troubling and stressful situations. We all have something to worry about. With God, we can rest in Him, knowing that He will make all things right.

God is in absolute control of everything over all the earth. Most of us probably like being in control of something, because then we can do it our way and be comfortable in that. However, wouldn’t it be much easier for us if God could take control? What if we let Him guide our paths and direct our thoughts? It can be very difficult for us to hand over our lives to someone else. But what if that someone else is the creator of the universe and the one who controls all things?

Everything works for God’s benefit whether we realize it or not. At the end of the day, He will be exalted throughout the earth. Jesus is the giver of life and the one who has overcome death. We can rest assured knowing that His perfect will is going to work out. He will be glorified through all things. We must learn how to be still and meditate on what God is trying to tell us. That involves prayer, reading His word and letting Him guide our life.

God will take all hostility in our life and turn it around for our good and His glory. We just have to trust in Him and let Him take over. At the end of the day, Jesus will have the victory. If we believe in Him and accept Him as the Lord of our life, we will share that victory with Him, too.

This week, pray about how you can be still in the hectic part of our life. Let God ease your mind, so that your thoughts can be calm and collected as you move forward.
