Conversations with God
May my meditation be sweet to Him; I will be glad in the Lord.
Psalm 104:34 (ESV)
Prayers are like conversations with God. Every good relationship involves great communication between both parties. It’s a mutual discussion and not one-sided. It’s the same concept with our communication with God. Our prayers should be intimate and genuine, like talking to someone you love.
We should be happy about praying to God, because it gives us strength to take on the day. There is nothing more satisfying and fulfilling than reading encouragement from God’s word. When we meditate on these things, it gives us joy and pleasure beyond comprehension. Our prayers should be more thoughtful and heartfelt. We need to speak to God with both reverence and joy in our hearts. Prayer should be taken seriously, because it affects your relationship with Jesus Christ.
We should find pleasure in meditating on God’s character and His works. Our mind should be naturally drawn to Him and not turned away from Him. Once we cherish the thought of God and get to know how loving and caring He really is, it will overlap into our daily lives and give us a happier demeanor. Think about God’s goodness and mercy. After all, we get to talk to the God and creator of this world.
This week, pray to God always. Talk to God like He is right there in the room with you, because He’s closer than you know.
