We are significant in His eyes
Psalm 8:4
What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you visit him?
Most of us have felt underappreciated at some point in our lives. Whether it’s at work, school or home, we don’t feel significant in what we do. It feels like our hard work doesn’t matter or we don’t have a voice. With God, we can be assured that is not the case.
Even though we may seem insignificant because God is so high above us, we fail to realize how much He loves us. God cares about the smallest details of our life, even though He created the entire universe. Out of all the planets and solar systems in the limitless expanse, He chose us. Out of over seven billion people in the world, He cares about you. He pays attention to us and hears us when we call. He comes to us in our time of need.
Jesus says in Matthew 6:26, “Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” If God can take care of all the animals of the earth, He can take care of us. We have to put everything in God’s hands and completely trust in Him. If we’re going through financial struggles, don’t be anxious, because God has promised to provide our needs.
It’s a wonderful feeling to know that you matter. With God, you can have that kind of feeling every single day. He gave His one and only Son to be with us. He made us in His image, as described in Genesis 1:26-27. That should make us feel loved. God has also blessed local churches to be there for others when they need it most. He watches over us, because He cares.
This week, pray about how you can be encouraged knowing that God sees value in you. Meditate on the fact that He loves you and thinks about you every single day. If you want to have that kind of personal relationship, ask Him to come into your heart, so you can feel appreciated by someone who loves you for who you are.
