Be still
Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
Psalm 46:10 (ESV)
When life happens, there are plenty of major events that can have an impact on us. Some will be positive and some will be negative. No matter what happens, it is often hard to be still and recognize the situation.
Whether the life-changing event is financially, relationally, emotionally or mentally straining, we can always have hope that God is with us. We can easily get caught up in the moment and forget that the creator of the universe has everything under His control. As imperfect humans, we need to recognize that God is holy and all-powerful.
The conclusion is God will be exalted. He will be glorified no matter what happens. Our Lord and Savior will always win in the end. Satan will try to get us all worked up about our problems. God reminds us that we just need to be still and trust in Him. We have to remember that our faith can move mountains, just like it says in Matthew 17:20.
It’s hard to be still. It’s hard to listen to what God has to say about a current situation affecting your life. It’s difficult not to try and do something about it. However, the Bible tells us it is important that we meditate on God’s word and commandments to be in line with His will.
To help us do that, we need to intentionally build our relationship with our Heavenly Father. Go somewhere where you will be free of distractions. Turn off your phone if you have to. Close your eyes and bow your head. Invite God to come speak with you. Be still and know that He is God.
This week, pray about how you want to be still with God this week. Let Him reveal to you how to handle certain things in life you might be struggling with.
